Mayu's Dress-Up Contest

Here is Mayu, in all her gleeful glory.

I've known this girl since I can't remember when, in Furcadia, and as I recall her budding artistic skills were none-to-fancy, but she has bloomed and surpassed many a fine artist and grown into somewhat of a superstar. I had lost touch with her for a while, so stumbling across her gallery made me gasp!

When she opened up this contest, I couldn't help but enter... not to win, not to compete. Just to color the wonderful lineart she'd come up with.

The lineart for the body is hers... I have done nothing but add clothing and some accents to the wings, and color the piece. It is a dress-up contest, after all. And how could this picture not come out looking good after it had such beautiful beginnings?

So, after ten or fifteen different costume ideas, I threw something together on the fly and enjoyed it enough to have worked on it these last few days. Tonight, especially, I've worked on it for at least about four hours today. Not including the other days I worked on it.

I don't like the way the wings came out, but I don't study butterflies enough to ever come up with something realistic-looking. Otherwise, I think it looks okay.
